Katie Lobkovich, Flexe Director of Revenue Operations

So I have a really cool job, even though it's a little bit challenging to talk about with other people. And especially hard to talk about it in such a way that it’s exciting.

But the reason my job is so cool is because I get to help people. And I get to help the people inside of Flexe who are making a difference externally.

My name is Katie Lobkovich. I'm the Director of Revenue Operations here at Flexe.

I was recruited, so I had never heard of Flexe. And I got a message on LinkedIn from Flexe’s VP of Marketing, Ryan Morel.

He said, "Hey, we're Flexe. We're doing all this really cool stuff. You look like you'd be a great fit. Do you want to get coffee?"

We get coffee. And near the end of our conversation, I asked Ryan, "Well, how did you end up here?"

He gave me a little bit of history about how he landed at Flexe. But he ended with something that stuck with me. He said, "Really, at the end of the day, I'm just here for Flexe to do well. And whatever that takes, whatever that means, I'm going to do it."

And then he says, "OK, great. Do you want to meet the team?"

I'm like, "Yes, I do!"

When I made the shift to Flexe, I had a moment when I said to myself, “I'm at a certain point in my career, and I'm at a certain age where I really just want to be myself.”

I'm at a certain point in my career, and I'm at a certain age where I really just want to be myself.

So in my first review with Adam, [Flexe’s Chief Growth Officer], he said, “You're kind of quirky."

I was like, "What?!"

And I explained to him how cool it is that I can be my quirky self at work every day and still be supported and encouraged.

What is really satisfying about working at Flexe is that no matter how hard we're pushing, our people never have to compromise what makes them who they are.

No matter how hard we're pushing, our people never have to compromise what makes them who they are.

Outside of work, I actually own and operate a motorsport series. I put on car racing events once a month throughout the year. So I’m working another full-time job in addition to this job.

I can navigate both really seamlessly. Because at Flexe, there’s support for the whole person, not just who you are when you’re at work.

I think no matter what job you have, it’s important that you understand why you're coming to work every day and doing the things you’re doing. It’s important to feel like you belong to a group who are all moving towards the same big (sometimes scary) but important goals.
