We are looking for a Director, Sourcing who will own a Flexe Network Super Region, drive regional growth and partner development strategy and lead a team of individuals focused on the same goal. In the day-to-day this individual will focus on building new national and multi-national warehouse partnerships, driving those partners to proposals on Flexe’s largest client projects, and managing our existing network of partners in their assigned region. The Regional Leader will own and develop a strategic geographic market in support of Flexe client needs for quality flexible fulfillment and logistics. The Regional Leader will work creatively to unlock distribution and fulfillment capacity in order to deliver on the “never full” commitment of our network. The Regional Leader will own all facets of partner success in their assigned market.

What you'll do

  • Mar­ket Devel­op­ment & Maintenance:
  • Iden­ti­fy, cat­e­go­rize, and devel­op pur­suit strate­gies for ware­hous­ing partners.
  • Net­work­ing with 1P and 3P ful­fill­ment providers to evan­ge­lize the Flexe val­ue propo­si­tion to poten­tial part­ners. Attend local indus­try events.
  • Man­age region­al team’s exe­cu­tion against pur­suit strate­gies, and sup­port spe­cif­ic pur­suits when appropriate. 
  • Mon­i­tor region­al health, capa­bil­i­ty and capac­i­ty lev­els rel­a­tive to Flexe sales and growth targets.
  • Join and assist region­al team for crit­i­cal com­mer­cial points for part­ner onboard­ing and management.
  • Part­ner with oth­er region­al lead­ers on coor­di­nat­ed pur­suits and growth strate­gies for nation­al and mul­ti-nation­al partners.
  • Act as region­al expert inform­ing the orga­ni­za­tion of any changes in region­al con­di­tions that would impact com­pa­ny goals or client needs.

  • Deal Flow Support:
  • Direct own­er­ship of Flexe’s new and exist­ing client growth objec­tives and rev­enue tar­gets, in tan­dem with Flexe’s net­work growth goals. 
  • Part­ner­ship with Flexe’s Busi­ness Devel­op­ment and Account Man­age­ment lead­ers on crit­i­cal client oppor­tu­ni­ties, as rep­re­sen­ta­tive of ware­house network.
  • Part­ner­ship with cross-func­tion­al teams on improve­ments to hand­offs, tools, process and strat­e­gy for deal cycles
  • Ensure region­al team’s deal flow per­for­mance against input met­rics (bid speed, bid depth, bid price vs bench­marks, qual­i­ty etc.)

  • Team Leader:
  • Man­age all indi­vid­ual team mem­bers in assigned region, includ­ing Sr. Strate­gic Mar­ket Direc­tors, Strate­gic Mar­ket Direc­tors, and Mar­ket Managers
  • Lead recruit­ing and onboard­ing efforts for new team mem­bers in region. 
  • Sup­port team mem­bers in Mar­ket Devel­op­ment, Main­te­nance and Deal Flow activ­i­ties as needed. 
  • Ready to play a play­er-coach role.
  • Build objec­tives and key results tar­gets for indi­vid­u­als, track per­for­mance to tar­get, and coach team mem­bers to ensure tar­gets are met.
  • Solic­it feed­back from cross-func­tion­al teams, and resolve concerns

  • Build­ing Scale:
  • Take ini­tia­tive to iden­ti­fy prob­lems, pro­pose solu­tions, then exe­cute, across all team activities.
  • Take a lead­er­ship role on project suc­cess as assigned by Com­mer­cial leaders.
  • Build KPIs and SLAs, dri­ve per­for­mance against them, and improve baselines.
  • Stay invest­ed in indus­try hap­pen­ings, and let lead­er­ship know of opportunities.

  • Cross Func­tion­al Support:
  • Mon­i­tor esca­la­tions regard­ing ware­house part­ners from Operations.
  • Sup­port our most com­plex deal nego­ti­a­tions for the Com­mer­cial team as needed.
  • Sup­port client onboard­ings as need­ed for larg­er, com­plex projects. 
  • Act as a voice of the ware­house net­work for Flexe projects and lead­er­ship discussions.
  • Men­tor Flexe team mem­bers on best prac­tices in client and part­ner man­age­ment, as well as distribution/​fulfillment operations.
  • Oth­er spe­cial projects as required.

Does this sound like you?

  • Master’s degree or equiv­a­lent com­bi­na­tion of edu­ca­tion and experience
  • 6+ years expe­ri­ence in Sales and/​or Client Management, 
  • 6+ years expe­ri­ence in Man­age­ment and Lead­er­ship in a 3rd par­ty logis­tics busi­ness required
  • A deep knowl­edge of dis­tri­b­u­tion and ful­fill­ment oper­a­tions required
  • A track record of lead­ing teams to great results required, ide­al­ly in a remote environment
  • Expe­ri­ence hir­ing, train­ing and grow­ing teams
  • Abil­i­ty to cred­i­bly inter­face with clients and ware­house part­ners on a tactical/​operational lev­el and a strate­gic level
  • Expe­ri­ence in account man­age­ment includ­ing run­ning QBRs, involve­ment in oper­a­tional audits, and being the voice of the customer
  • Deep expe­ri­ence with 3PL ser­vices agree­ments, pro­cure­ment and nego­ti­a­tions strong­ly preferred
  • Abil­i­ty to man­age long term plan­ning in a strate­gic market
  • Pro­fi­cien­cy in Office, prin­ci­pal­ly Excel and Pow­er­Point or Google suite prin­ci­pal­ly Sheets and Slides
  • Expe­ri­ence with WMS, ERP and TMS sys­tems required
  • Expe­ri­ence with CRM sys­tems preferred
  • Demon­strat­ed suc­cess in col­lab­o­rat­ing with mul­ti­ple stake­hold­ers at a high lev­el inter­nal­ly and externally
  • Expe­ri­ence in build­ing and test­ing processes
  • Able to trav­el up to 50%
  • Must be autho­rized to work in the US with­out restric­tion. We will not be spon­sor­ing visas for this role at this time
  • This is a ful­ly remote posi­tion, based in the greater Cen­tral market.
